Medufy - Terms and Conditions for Healthcare Professionals

Welcome to Medufy! These Terms and Conditions here-in referred to as "Terms" govern the relationship between Medufy and healthcare professionals, including doctors, nurses, pharmacies, and laboratories here-in referred to as "Service Providers" unless explicitly specified. By registering and using Medufy’s platforms, you agree to abide by these Terms.
If you do not agree, please refrain from using our services.
1. Eligibility and Registration
To use Medufy as a healthcare professional, you must:
- Be licensed and accredited by the relevant regulatory authorities in Uganda that is UMDPC (Uganda Mendical and Dentists Practictioner's Council) for Doctors, PSU ( Pharmaceutical Society of Uganda) for pharmacists and AHPC (Allied Health Professionals Council) for Nurses and Laboratory.
- Provide accurate, up-to-date credentials and verification documents during registration that will be vetted and verified by Medufy personnel before you can access Medufy platforms using personalised and unique Identification Numbers.
- Comply with Ugandan medical laws, ethical standards, and patient confidentiality guidelines.
- Provide us with a coloured headshot spaning the top of your head to your shoulders, with your eyes directed towards the camera. Filters, angled pictures or black and white photos shall not be accepted.
Failure to meet these requirements may result in denial of your registration, suspension or termination of your account or medico-legal consequences for which Medufy is not liable.
2. Responsibilities of Healthcare Professionals
Doctors:
- Provide accurate diagnoses, prescriptions, and medical advice based on professional expertise as pertains to your cadre. Where a problem is encountered, it is advisable to seek id or a second opnion or refer a patient or client to the appropriate health care professionals.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to data protection laws. In additoon, keep the principles of ethics in mind while providing your services through Medufy paltforms.
- Respond to consultations and appointments in a timely manner as slotted on your calender as time of availability during profile registration. In case of any changes, ensure to update your calender for seameless provision of services.
- Avoid conflicts of interest and refrain from endorsing unverified, unnecessary or harmful treatments or tests.
- Maintain professional standards while interacting with any individual taking part in utilising medufy services.
- Ensure your personal professional documents and registration with your regualtory bodiesare up to date as this can affect the validity of your profile and hence delivery of services through Medufy.
- Maintain an up to date knowledge on developments in patient and disease management through Continuous Professsional Development to ensure provision of optimal and up-to-date services through Medufy.
Nurses:
- Collaborate with other health professionals involved in aptient care via Medufy to ensure harmonious service delivery.
- Provide holistic compassionate and professional services to clients of Medufy ensuring adherence to cadre job specifications, that is, Certificate, Diploma, Advanced diploma, Bachelor's, Masters in Nursing or Midwifery or both or any specific specialisations. Any servicers provided outside or beyond your level of qualification may lead to loss of access or susupension of the individual and all involved parties from Medufy and could have medico-legal consequences.
- Respond to tasks assigned in a timely manner as slotted on your Medufy profile.
- Avoid conflicts of interest and refrain from endorsing unverified, unnecessary or harmful treatments or tests.
- Maintain professional standards while interacting with any individual taking part in utilising medufy services.
- Ensure your personal professional documents and registration with your regualtory bodies are up to date as this can affect the validity of your profile and hence delivery of services through Medufy.
- Maintain an up to date knowledge on developments in patient and disease management through Continuous Professsional Development to ensure provision of optimal and up-to-date services through Medufy.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to data protection laws. In additoon, keep the principles of ethics in mind while providing your services through Medufy paltforms.
Pharmacies:
- Must have full and valid registration and license and under the supervision of a qualified pharmacist with valid practicing licenses and registration.
- Dispense correct prescribed medications lawfully and only with valid prescriptions as provided by the Medufy system or team. Unprescribed dispensing in the name of Medufy could lead to account suspension or deletion or medico-legal consequences.
- Ensure accurate and up to date inventory management and avoid counterfeit or expired drugs.
- Provide patients with proper medication usage guidelines including but not limited to formulation, dose, frequency, duration, route of administratiion and expected side effects and safety precautions which may inlude storage directions, age limitations.
- Provide holistic compassionate and professional services to clients of Medufy ensuring adherence to cadre job specifications, that is, Certificate, Diploma, Advanced diploma, Bachelor's, Masters in Nursing or Midwifery or both or any specific specialisations. Any servicers provided outside or beyond your level of qualification may lead to loss of access or susupension of the individual and all involved parties from Medufy and could have medico-legal consequences.
- Respond to tasks assigned in a timely manner as slotted on your Medufy profile.
- Avoid conflicts of interest and refrain from endorsing unverified, unnecessary or harmful treatments or tests.
- Maintain professional standards while interacting with any individual taking part in utilising medufy services.
- Maintain an up to date knowledge on developments in patient, disease management and prescriptions through Continuous Professsional Development to ensure provision of optimal and up-to-date services through Medufy.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to data protection laws. In additoon, keep the principles of ethics in mind while providing your services through Medufy paltforms.
Laboratories:
- Must have full and valid registration and license and under the supervision of a qualified technologist with a valid practicing license and registration.
- Conduct accurate and timely tests, ensuring compliance with national and international medical standards.
- Ensure sample collection in terms of using the aapropriate equipment, routes and techniques and transportation conditions are maintained to allow for optimal result production once they're analysed.
- Maintain test result confidentiality and share results only with authorized users who are directly involved in the management of the patient or clienet to whom the results belong.
- Use standardized, well-calibrated equipment for accurate diagnostic results.
- Provide holistic compassionate and professional services to clients of Medufy ensuring adherence to cadre job specifications, that is, Certificate, Diploma, Advanced diploma, Bachelor's, Masters in Nursing or Midwifery or both or any specific specialisations. Any servicers provided outside or beyond your level of qualification may lead to loss of access or susupension of the individual and all involved parties from Medufy and could have medico-legal consequences.

- Maintain an up to date knowledge on developments in patient, disease management and laboratory guidelines through Continuous Professsional Development to ensure provision of optimal and up-to-date services through Medufy.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to data protection laws. In additoon, keep the principles of ethics in mind while providing your services through Medufy paltforms.
3. Data Protection & Privacy
Medufy requires healthcare professionals to:
- Protect patient information and comply with applicable data protection regulations such as the Uganda National Digital Health Guidelines,....
- Use encryption and secure channels when handling sensitive medical data to ensure there is minimal chance of loss, deletion, hacking or deletion.
- Never share, sell, or misuse patient data for unauthorized purposes.
Medufy reserves the right to audit compliance with these policies and take necessary action in case of violations.
4. Payments & Service Fees
- Consultation Fees: Service Providers may set consultation fees, subject to Medufy’s commission structure provided they are found suitable for the service being provided.
- Payment Processing: Payments are securely processed through third-party providers. Medufy does not store full payment details.
- Payout Schedule: Payments to Service Providers will be processed as per the agreed schedule which is????.
- Dispute Resolution: Any disputes regarding payments must be reported to Medufy support team within 14 days of transaction completion for investigation and resolution. Any disputes files after this period has elapsed will require further clarification before an investigation is set into motion.
5. Compliance & Professional Conduct
All Service Providers that directly or indirectly interact with those acquiring services through Medufy platforms must:
- Abide by ethical medical practices and local healthcare regulations.
- Avoid malpractice, misrepresentation, or unprofessional behavior.
- Report any platform misuse, fraud, or violations of these Terms using the Medufy support form.
6. Liability & Disclaimers
- Medufy serves as a platform connecting users with Service Providers but does not assume liability for medical decisions or outcomes as a direct or indirect result of information recieved from said Service Providers.
- Service Providers are solely responsible for their medical advice, prescriptions, and treatment recommendations.
- Medufy shall not be held liable for any malpractice, negligence, or data breaches caused by Service Providers.
7. Termination & Account Suspension
Medufy maiantains the right to suspend or terminate Service Provider accounts wiwthout prior notice under the following conditions:
- Non-compliance with medical standards or ethical guidelines.
- Violation of data privacy regulations.
- Continuous negative feedback from patients regarding unprofessional conduct.
- Fraudulent activities or misrepresentation while directly or indorectly invloved in service provision that represents Medufy.
Service Providers may also request account deactivation by notifying Medufy in writing via the deactivate account form under their profiles.
8. Amendments & Updates
Medufy may update these Terms periodically. Service Providers will be notified via email, in-app alerts or direct SMS and continued use of the platforms after these updates are in effect signifies acceptance of the new Terms.
9. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution
- These Terms are governed by the laws of Uganda spaning medical, pharmaceutical, nursing and laboratory practice as well as digital health laws as stated by the governing bodies.
- Any disputes shall be resolved through mediation first. If unresolved, legal proceedings will follow in the jurisdiction of the courts of Law and the regulatory bodies as appropriate.
