Welcome to Medufy! These are the Terms and Conditions that are going to govern your use of our platforms extending to the website, mobile application and related services. By proceeding to use Medufy, you agree to these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree, please do not proceed to use our services. For any questions, contact us by *email.

1. Definition of Terms

This section introduces you to the terms that we shall be using in this document and in which context they are applied. In this document, we shall be referring to the terms elaborated below:

  1. "Medufy” refers to the Medufy platform, including its website, app, and related services.
  2. "User" refers to any individual or entity accessing or using Medufy services via all accessible routes.
  3. "Healthcare Provider" refers to licensed medical professionals offering services through Medufy including medical doctors, clinical officers, pharmacists, laboratory technicians and nurses.
  4. "Content or services" refers to all text, images, videos, medical insights, and other materials provided by Medufy.

By using our Services, you agree to these Terms, our Privacy Policy, and any other policies or guidelines that apply to the Services. We may update or modify these Terms from time to time, and the updated version will be posted here as well as notifications shared with you via available routes as defined in the Privacy Policy. You are responsible for reviewing these Terms periodically to stay informed about any changes. Your continued use of the Services after changes to the Terms constitutes your acceptance of those changes.

2. User Eligibility

This section defines which individuals are eligible to gain access to Medufy services as well as provisions for those who may legally be limited to access these services. It also defines what is expected of Users upon gaining access to Medufy services. The User must:

  • Be at least 18 years of age or an emancipated minor or, if below 18 years, have parental/ guardian permission to sign up and actively engage in Medufy services.
  • Provide accurate and legal registration information.
  • Not use Medufy or its services for illegal or fraudulent purposes. Medufy reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts of Users who fail to comply with or violate these terms
  • In instances of physical, psychological, mental or otherwise hinderances that may be present and limit the ability of a prospective User to access services through Medufy, there shall be compliance with local laws and regulations concerning the use of a third-party or one who has been granted power of attorney(healthcare proxy).

3. Account Registration and Security

Under this section, descriptions on steps to take to access Medufy services are outlined as well as terms governing unauthorised access.

  • An account has to be created to access the full services of Medufy via Sign Up for Users with registered accounts or Sign In for Users accessing the app for the first time. Required information includes an email address or NIN (National Identification Number) or phone number, personalised password and address. The User is then required to exhaustively fill in all required fields for profile creation.
  • For quick access, your phone number or National Identification Number (NIN) and your chosen PIN are sufficient for sign up, thereafter full profile registration is required.
  • Medufy is not liable for unauthorized account access due to weak or shared passwords. If you suspect any unauthorized access, ensure to contact support as soon as possible.

4. Services Provided

A detailed description of the Services Medufy is given below. These span the different fields or departments including services provided by our collaborators.

  • Medical Consultations - These constitute virtual consultations with private licensed healthcare providers which could be either spontaneous or by set appointment and are provided in-app or through a call to our help lines.
  • Health monitoring - Several in built tools to allow the User as well as Health care workers involved in the management of the patient to track medical conditions, prescriptions and wellness goals through the documentation of vitals, side effects or new developments.
  • Pharmacy delivery services - These are provided by licensed and registered pharmacies vetted by the Medufy team to provide the service of filling medical prescriptions for pick-up as well as providing in-person deliveries where requested.
  • Laboratory services - Through Medufy or partnering licensed and registred laboratories. Sample collection, delievery and testing as well as provision of results. These are only accessed by those directly involeved in the management of the User and any third-party involvement requires explicit consent by the User.
  • Home visits - Healthcare providers perform home consultations and follow up visits to the User as requested and scheduled by the User.
Medufy is NOT a substitute for emergency medical care. If you experience a medical emergency, seek immediate assistance from a hospital or emergency service most accessible to you. Always consult a qualified healthcare provider before making medical decisions.

5. User responsibilities

This section outlines the values expected of any User who acccesses Medufy services. By using Medufy, you agree to:

  1. Use the platform for lawful medical and health purposes only.
  2. Provide full and truthful information about your personal and health history as requested or required by your healthcare provider.
  3. Not impersonate another person or submit misleading data which can affect service delivery and provision of optimum services as provided by Medufy.
  4. Allow assigned licensed medical professionals access to personal information and data in the process of optimal service provision.

6. Payment & Subscription

In agreement with using Medufy services, the User is hereby informed that while some content of Medufy is accessible for free, this does not apply to all services as defined by Medufy.

  • Certain Medufy services may require subscription payments or one-time fees such as laboratory, pharmacy services, home visits and consultations. This allows for facilitation of service delivery.
  • Payments are processed securely through third-party payment providers - who.
  • Subscription plans may auto-renew, and you can cancel anytime before the next billing cycle or select the manual update option, taking into account that there will be a limit to some services until the subscription is renewed.
  • No refunds are issued for past payments unless required by law.

7. Data Privacy & Security

Medufy will put in place certian measures to ensure User data is stored, used and maiantained as safely as possible through the following methods:

  • Medufy collects and processes personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy (hyperlink).
  • We implement encryption and security measures to protect User data as is within our control.
  • Medufy does not store full payment details provided when accessing paid services; payments are processed by third-party services.
  • We do not sell or rent personal health information to third parties. For more details, refer to our Privacy Policy.

8. Third-Party Services & Integrations

In service provision and following rules set with service providers:

  • Medufy may integrate with third-party medical providers, AI tools, or payment processors who will use your information as necessary to fulfil service delivery requests.
  • We are not responsible for the services of external providers.
  • Any third-party interactions are at your own risk.
  • If you use third-party integrations, ensure you review their privacy or security policies as well as their terms and conditions beforehand.

9. Intellectual Property Rights

Concerning ownership and access rights to Medufy content:

  • All content, trademarks, logos, and software on Medufy are owned by us or our licensors.
  • You may not copy, modify, or distribute Medufy’s content without permission.
  • Medufy grants you a limited, non-exclusive license to use the platform for personal healthcare purposes only. Unauthorized use may result in legal action.

10. Termination & Account Suspension

In case it is discovered that a User violates the rules set in the Terms and Conditions or Privacy Policy, Medufy reserves the right to:

  1. Suspend or terminate accounts for violating these Terms.
  2. Restrict access if there is suspected fraud or misuse of one's account.
  3. Modify or discontinue services without prior notice.

You may delete your account at any time, but data retention policies may apply as per our Privacy Policy. Upon termination, your right to use Medufy and its services will immediately cease.cy.

11. Limitation of Liability

This section outlines information and rules regarding legal limitations for extent of the services provided by Medufy or ffiliated parties.

  • Medufy is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind.
  • To the fullest extent permitted by law, Medufy and its affiliates, employees, agents, and partners shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenue, or data, arising out of or in connection with services provided on Medufy.
  • Medufy, service providers affiliated with or its employees are not liable for any medical decisions taken or direct or indirect correlated events occuring away from Medufy.
  • No guarantees are given regarding platform uptime or uninterrupted service.
  • Medufy is not responsible for data loss due to technical failures or cyberattacks.
  • To the fullest extent permitted by law, Medufy’s liability shall not exceed the amount paid for the specific Service that gave rise to the claim.

12. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

  • These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Uganda and in fulfilment of the regualtions set by concerned governing bodies as is associated with services provided by Medufy.
  • Any dispute arising from or relating to these Terms or your use of the Services shall first be attempted to be resolvedbe resolved through mediation and only if this fails through arbitration or the Courts of Law.

13. Miscellaneous

  • Entire Agreement: These Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and Medufy regarding the Services.
  • Severability: If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full effect.
  • Waiver: Our failure to enforce any provision of these Terms does not waive our right to enforce that provision in the future.

14. Changes and updates

We may update or change these Terms periodically to reflect new regulations, services, or business practices. Changes will be communicated via:

  • Email notifications
  • In-app alerts
  • Mobile SMS

Your continued use of Medufy means you accept the updated Terms. It is advisable to read and keep up to date with these Terms as they define the services and modes of delivery of said services as provided by Meduft.
